| metadata.dc.description.resumo: | O Período da Borracha proporcionou grandes transformações culturais e sociais na cidade de Manaus e estimulou a inserção de revivals na arquitetura pública e privada. Neste trabalho analisou-se a utilização de referências neogóticas nas construções deste período e o seu diálogo com os outros estilos, refletindo a relação da arte com a história e a memória de uma coletividade. O estudo foi desenvolvido a partir da análise iconológica, tipológica e simbólica das seguintes construções: o Reservatório da Castelhana (em torno de 1890), a Capela do Cemitério São João Batista (1906), a Capela do Pobre Diabo (1897), a Capela da Santa Casa de Misericórdia (1922), além de fragmentos neogóticos em construções ecléticas do Centro Histórico de Manaus. |
| Zusammenfassung: | The Rubber Boom Period provided great cultural and social changes in the city of Manaus and encouraged the inclusion of revivals in public and private architecture. This research analyzed the use of references in the Neogothic buildings of this period and its dialogue with other styles, reflecting the relationship between art and history and the memory of a collectivity. The research was developed from the iconological, typological and symbolic analysis of the buildings: the Reservatório da Castelhana (around 1890), the Chapel of St. John the Baptist Cemetery (1906), the Chapel of the Poor Devil (1897), the Chapel of the Holy House of Mercy (1922), and neogothic fragments of ecletic buildings of the historic center of Manaus. |
