| metadata.dc.description.resumo: | O presente artigo objetiva analisar os principais impactos negativos da prática de apostas esportivas on-line sem regulamentação, cenário vivenciado por apostadores brasileiros nos últimos anos. Um mercado que tem crescido muito e movimenta cifras bilionárias, mas que até então era cercado de insegurança jurídica e que não trazia o devido retorno financeiro ao Estado. A partir desse estudo, são identificadas as medidas legais que têm sido tomadas para resolver essas problemáticas, com destaque para a entrada recente em vigor da Lei 14.790/2023, que estabelece as regras de funcionamento do mercado e a forma pela qual serão tributados os prêmios e a arrecadação das empresas, promovendo, dessa forma, um debate acerca da produção de efeitos da lei a partir do ano de 2024. |
| Abstract: | This article aims to analyze the main negative impacts of unregulated online sports betting, a scenario experienced by Brazilian bettors in recent years. This is a market that has grown enormously and generates billions of dollars, but which until now was surrounded by legal uncertainty and did not bring the State its due financial return. Based on this study, the legal measures that have been taken to resolve these problems are identified, with emphasis on the recent entry into force of Law 14.790/2023, which establishes the rules for the operation of the market and the way in which prizes and company revenue will be taxed, thus promoting a debate about the effects of the law as of 2024. |
