Abstract

The objective of this study is to understand the scientific perspective of the naturalists who traveled the Solimões River in the 19th century, in order to study not only the fauna and flora, but also its inhabitants. The naturalists, who went to this part of the Solimões, were botanists, zoologists, entomologists, geologists, and scientists. They were the naturalists, who were in search of new discoveries, towards the furthest corners. , In short, scientists from the natural sciences, who were concerned to meet the professional demands and purposes with which they were directly involved, because they would have to describe everything that was along the way. Moreover, the work shows how the population of this region Was analyzed by these men of science who spent years going through their rivers in search of collecting data of their population to take to their countries of origin.
