| Zusammenfassung: | The satirical genre is to censor the vices of men, which gives it an educational character, since it aims to indicate a way of life to be followed. Juvenal is considered the last great satirical Roman, having composed five books of satires that total 16 poems. In them he censured, sometimes acidly, the vices of the time and also addressed the question of morality. Our study has as corpus the satire IX of Book III, in which critics are made to the sexual behavior of the men. It is intended to make an analysis of said text, with the purpose of pointing out which are the vices combated by the satirical persona, with particular attention to the homoerotic male relations. |
| Beschreibung: | O gênero satírico tem como função censurar os vícios dos homens, o que lhe confere um caráter educacional, uma vez que visa indicar um modo de vida a ser seguido. Juvenal é considerado o último grande satírico romano, tendo composto cinco livros de sátiras que totalizam 16 poemas. Nelas censurou, às vezes, acidamente, os vícios da época e também abordou a questão da moral. Nosso estudo tem como corpus a sátira IX do Livro III, em que são feitas críticas ao comportamento sexual dos homens. Pretende-se fazer uma análise do referido texto, com o fito de apontar quais são os vícios combatidos pela persona satírica, com atenção em especial às relações homoeróticas masculinas. |
